It's 2:17 in the morning and you're doing the math again.
Surgery was months ago. You went to every appointment. You did the band work on the days you didn't feel like it. You were the good patient. And you're still lying here on your back — the only position that works — staring at the ceiling, waiting for the ache to settle enough to get another two hours.
Nobody warned you about this part. They told you about the sling, the six weeks, the milestones. Nobody told you that the incision can heal completely and the shoulder can still feel like it belongs to somebody else.
